In
the nearby surroundings of Puerto Angel, you'll find relaxing, sandy beaches
bordered with lush palm trees. The village beach (see pictures 1 and 2) is
a good place to spend quiet days just relaxing and tanning, or you can arrange
interesting trips to the hilly hinterland to view tropical fauna and flora.
Those who would like to experience the larger international-style beach resorts
for a day can take side-trips to Puerto Escondido (75 km) or Huatulco (45
km), before returning to the idyllic setting of Puerto Angel in the evening.
Pochutla (13 km away) is the commercial center of this coastal region,
where you'll find banks, large supermarkets and a typically Mexican Monday
market.
