Puerto Angel is a small fishing
village, bordering a small, sheltered bay on Mexico's sunny Pacific coast. In
former times a coffee port, it now survives mainly on fishing and tourism,
which so far has hardly affected the traditional lifestyle of the inhabitants.
Despite an increasing number of tourists, Puerto Angel has maintained its hospitable
nature and enchanting charm as a point of attraction for many individual travelers.
Pochutla, 13 km from Puerto Angel, is a junction for buses in all directions
and the arrival point for the short drive by taxi or bus at very reasonable
rates to Puerto Angel.
Daily buses are available at Pochutla to and from Oaxaca, Mexico City, San Cristobal
de Las Casas, and Acapulco.
There are daily flights to and from Oaxaca and Mexico City at Huatulco and Puerto
Escondido.
